In the latest news and UTAG strike update, the University Teachers Association of Ghana, UTAG has declined an order by the court pushing them to meet with the National Labour Commission (NLC) for negotiations on their demands.
According to reports, UTAG is not willing to be pushed around since the NLC has refused to do its job as the mediator in issues of labor unrest in the country and forcing them to take drastic actions.
However, UTAG is willing and has scheduled the said meeting with the National Labour Commission for February 12, 2022, as they look forward to agreeing on mutual grounds in order to have their strike called off.
We hope that the current UTAG strike does not end up like a similar one that happened in 1994 in Ghana which forced the government to intervene for students.
