Because of the above, I have taken the pain to list quite a chunk of the popular and most visited tourist sites in the country and the regions in which you can find them for your planning convenience.

1. Kakum National Park

Kakum National Park is a national forest reserve that serves as a tourist site because of the different plant and animal species as well as the Kakum Canopy Walkway which is over 40 feet above the ground. Kakum National Park is in the Central Region.

2. Legon Botanical Garden

Looking forward to taking the family out to sit somewhere in the open and catch the fun of nature? Legon Botanical Garden is the best place. It is located in the same vicinity as the University of Ghana in Legon, in the Greater Accra Region.

3. Aburi Botanical Garden

So a botanical garden basically is a home of different plant species. The Aburi Botanical Garden is not different from the meaning of the term. Providing a cool breeze and a nice ecological park, the Aburi Botanical Garden can be found in Aburi, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

4. Wli Waterfalls

Wli Waterfalls is the tallest waterfall in Ghana. Wli Waterfall stands at a height of 80 meters tall being a center of pleasure and tourist interest. Wli Waterfall is in the Volta Region of the country.

5. Ote Falls

Ote Falls is one of the very few waterfalls in Ghana. The site has been a ground for hosting many tourists from Ghana and beyond and the citing of the new Amedzofe Canopy Walkway over it is a place. Ote Falls can be located in Amedzofe, Volta Region.

6. Afadjato

Afadjato or Mount Afadja is the tallest mountain in Ghana and has been a center of tourist attraction for the last 2 decades and counting. Afadjato is located in the Afadjato South Municipality of the Volta Region, sharing a border with Togo.

7. Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary

As the name suggests, this is a hub for the monkey species. If you dream of seeing different breeds of monkies, then consider visiting Tafi-Atome Monkey Sanctuary in the small village Tafi-Atome in the Volta Region.

8. Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is a dedicated site to the memory of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The site keeps records of everything relating to the life of Nkrumah.  Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is situated in Accra, in the Greater Accra Region.

9. Fort Prinzenstein

Fort Prezenstein is one of the most strategically placed forts in Ghana and West Africa. It is sited in the east of River Volta so that transportation to the southern side and the fort can be made easy by using the river. Fort Prinzenstein is located in Keta, in the Volta Region.

10. Cape Coast Castle

Serving as one of the most patronized tourist sites in Ghana, the Cape Coast Castle is also one of the many castles built by the whites during colonial times. The Cape Coast castle is located in Cape Coast, in the Central Region.

11. Elmina Castle

Elmina Castle is one of the many castles built for the colonial masters on the shores of Africa and Ghana for that matter. Elimina Castle is located in Elmina, in the Central Region.

12. Amedzofe Canopy Walkway

Amedzofe Canopy Walkway is the newest canopy walkway in Ghana providing the walkway scenes over a waterfall, the Ote Falls. It is situated in Amedzofe, the Volta Region.

13. International Stingless Bee Center

The International Stingless Bee Center is a sanctuary for stingless bees and a place for environmental education and training purposes. The International Stingless Bee Center is located in the Central Region of Ghana.

14. Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary

The Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary is the only preserved area for the hippopotamus species in Ghana. Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary is located in the Upper West Region of Ghana.
