Reports from a verified source have it that Tanzanian singer Zuchu, born Zuhura Othman Soud, has turned down an offer of an ambassadorial role from an alcohol producing company because her religion Islam frowns on the consumption of the product.
In many countries, celebrities are barred from promoting some brands based on the kind of products they deal with, especially those that have to do with alcohol and narcotics.
Ghanaian musicians have on many occasions been cautioned against the act of signing deals with alcohol production companies with the aim of promoting the alcohol line of products.

Zuchu however is not rejecting the deal on national grounds but on a religious one. Sources say her mother, Tanzanian Music Legend, Khadija Kopa warned her against promoting such products earlier.
The deal when sealed will offer Zuchu some $108,000 aside from other packages that are supposed to be added entitlements.
