The Ghana Immigration Service announced that it is receiving applications from suitable and eligible Ghanaians for enlistment into the force in 2021.
In all, over 100,000 young Ghanaians applied in what became the highest application to the service in years yet just about 2000 of these people were expected to be called up to the service.
Many Ghanaians have been skeptical about recruitment into the security forces in Ghana since it has to do with luck and who you know and not how qualified you are even if you actually do qualify.

In a recent development, a list of names making rounds on the internet alleged to be from the office of the president seems to submit to the service, people believed to be on protocol waiting to be called.
In all, 521 names were submitted on the list. However, the heading of the list seems to suggest differently as it shows that the presidency has rather received the list from the recruitment board for approval of their appointment.
