Mr. Abdul-Mumin Issah, MCE for Sekondi Takoradi was arrested by the Western Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service following a Road Traffic offense and an alleged verbal assault on a police officer who was just doing his work.
Regarding the issue at hand, President Nana Akuf-Addo who is the appointing authority of these local government officials has taken steps to suspend the MCE until the case is determined by the court.

A statement issued by the Local Government Ministry reads;
Without prejudice to the matter before the court, the government takes a very dim view of the comments made by the Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer of Sekondi Takoradi during his exchanges with the police.
Following the instructions of the President, the Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer of Sekondi Takoradi, Mr. Abdul-Mumin Issah has been duly suspended from his duty in line with his assault with the police of 3rd February 2022.
The government took a dim view of the comments made by the MCE during his exchange with the police officer.
The comments made by the MCE contradict the laid down beliefs of the government and thus work to ensure that the security agencies are resourced.
The Hon. Western Regional Minister, Mr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has been assigned additional supervisory authority over the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly.
