Prez. Akufo-Addo rejects salary increments. It has surfaced that the president of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reverted to his initial emoluments before 2021.
Founding member and Chief Executive Officer of African Think Tank giant, IMANI Africa, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe has hinted that Ghana’s president and leader of the country H.E Nana Akufo-Addo has turned down a salary raise which was proposed by the Salaries and Emoluments Committee.
Earlier in 2021, the Salaries and Emolument Committee, a body tasked with the sole mandate to review and reject salary adjustments for Article 71 officeholders in Ghana presented its recommendation for onward implementation.
The committee among other things proposed that the introduction of the Spousal Salaries for the spouses of the first and second gentlemen (President and His Vice)
The proposal saw a lot of public backslash by Ghanaians, leading to the spouses rejecting the move subsequently.
Moving one, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe has announced the decision of the president to follow the actions of the first and second ladies. According to him in a Facebook post, it is the cry of the Ghanaian that has seen such a result.
Hello bro, hello sis, the moment you have been waiting for is here-Prez Nana Addo just announced he is no longer taking your money in terms of extra salary because as you all rightly argued, he and his men and women did not deserve a raise. Well done.
