Kundum Festival Celebration This Year And Artists Coming
According to history, the Ahanta or Nzema people of the Western region of Ghana are the celebrants of the festival. It is celebrated in thanksgiving to God for the abundance of food at the time of the harvest period of the area in the year.
Over the years of the celebration, a number of the country's significant and most hyped artists have passed through its carnival with great performances that leave the patrons always having something to say year after year.
From spoken history, the festival came to existence when a hunter, named Akpoley, in a hunting expedition, came across some dwarves dancing in a circle. The story says after observing the dance, he returned to his town and introduced it to his people which has been what we have celebrated over time.
Some artists that have passed through the festival are; Stonebwoy popularly called 1Gad, Medikal, D-Black, Fameye amongst others.
