Sometimes the funniest things happen among serious people and an example is what you are here to see as the Juaben MCE nominee demands his monies from Assembly Members after second rejection.
Ghana as we already know has a decentralized governance system that goes down to as low as the electoral level and it is the responsibility of the president of the country to nominate District/Municipal Chief Executives who will be voted for by the assembly members representing the electoral levels.
This year's nominations and elections are just ending and the stories are just funny enough as some nominees get rejected as much as twice.
Background of the Juaben MCE elections:
Every nominee submitted by the president must obtain more than 50% of votes cast to be confirmed as a Chief Executive. Those who do not meet the cut for the first time, they are given the chance after 10 days to speak to the assembly members before re-elections are conducted.
In the case of the Juaben MCE, even after pushing some monies onto the grounds, the assembly members rejected him twice hence the need to recoup his loss.
