Ghana is currently sitting at 3rd place with just 1. And they will need all the prayers and motivation to secure a victory not only for themselves but for the entire nation hopeful of their progress. Former President John Mahama just like any well-meaning Ghanaian sent a heartfelt message out to the team urging them to fly the flags of Ghana very high with utmost commitment, concentration, and courage.

Here is what he said to the Blacks Stars in a Facebook post:

Ghana plays Comoros today at the #AFCON2021 to fight for the third position in the group; in order to possibly qualify for the next stage of the tournament.
This is not the tight situation we expected, considering the pedigree of Ghana’s Black Stars in football history.
But the Black Stars are our team and represent the symbol of our national pride. We must support them with one heart and urge them to fly the flag of Ghana very high with utmost commitment, concentration and courage.
I wish the Black Stars the very best outcome in today’s encounter with Comoros.
Go Black Stars! Go!

All the best to the team and we hope they make the entire nation proud tonight.

Go Black Stars!
