Francisca Lamini, a former student of Keta Senior High Technical School and the only female to make it to the finals of the National Science and Maths Quiz in a period of 8 years has shared her inspiration with the world,
Earlier, we brought you exclusives of her departure from the shores of Ghana to start a new chapter of her life in the United States of America after securing admission to Harvard Medical School.
In her farewell and appreciation message to the good people of Ghana, Francisca Lamini disclosed how she became interested in the National Science and Maths Quiz just after junior high school.
According to her, she was watching one of the contests on Tv just after sitting for her BECE and awaiting SHS when she suddenly answered a question that was meant to be answered by high school students.
In her words, it was at that point that she realized she can also do it. Below you will find an extract of her message that spelled out that.
“I was watching one of the contests and I was very amazed that I answered a mathematics question correctly. Due to this excitement, I developed some positive energy that if I could answer a question correctly even though I’m not in high school, I can do well if I study very hard in high school and contest for my school. I worked very hard towards this when I was in school and got selected for the KETASCO national science and math quiz team.”
