The Director-General of the has in an interview on United Television, Ghana confirmed the reopening date for all public basic schools across Ghana.

Basic Schools management, teachers, and students all over Ghana were wondering when school resumes since there has been no stable academic calendar in the country’s educational system since the onset of the Covid-19 resumption in September 2020.

In the interview, the Director-General explained that the actual resumption date for all government basic schools from Kindergarten to Junior High Schools was 11th January 2022.

However getting to the end of 2021 and the end of the last academic year, there was a one-week extension in the school period hence the need to extend the resumption date for school. With this, all Basic Schools in Ghana will resume school on 18th January 2022 for the 2022/2023 academic year.
