Former captain of the Black Stars of Ghana, Asamoah Gyan has been speaking about his coming back to wear the country’s jersey for the last time during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The skipper described the situation as needed since he still has something to offer the country in his quest to win a World Cup title before retiring from active football.
According to the star in an interview, his opinion is based on the fact that social media platforms are always flooded with insults about his personality and sometimes his parents with reference to his penalty kick at the world cup.
Speaking on the Denta Show, the 36-year-old who rumours have it will be returning to represent Ghana for the last time said that in many countries, an accomplishment such as his would be on the lips of many people but Ghanaians do not see it so.
When asked the question of whether he thinks he has been celebrated enough, he was quick to answer saying he does not think so. In his own words, he said that people actually know he has done a lot for the country but choose to insult him instead.
