A viral video sees an angry driver and customer of MTN stripping off his clothes just to pour libation and curse owners and managers of the telecommunication company for blocking his sim card and preventing him from making calls.

This is part of measures put in place but the regulatory bodies in order to get everyone registered before the stipulated deadline.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) through a government-directed initiative has instructed the telcos in Ghana to allow their customers to re-register already existing sim cards with only the Ghana Card.

The initiative which was initially kicked against by a majority of Ghanaians started months ago and had some extensions of dates since a larger group of users were unable to get their registration done.

Though the NCA has released an app called the GH Sim Self Reg App which is expected to help unregistered customers at home, many who do not have the Ghana Card are left in limbo.

With the deadline set on September 30, 2022, the NCA has listed some punitive measures to force unregistered customers to go through the process.
