The President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has terminated the appointment of the deputy minister of finance, Mr. Charles Adu Boahen after he was fingered in an exposé by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Mr. Charles Adu Boahen was appointed to the position of deputy minister of finance in 2017 when the NPP took over power from the NDC after winning the 2016 election.
The exposé which is titled ‘Galamsey Economy’ is scheduled for a premiere on the 14th and 15th of November 2022 but the short clip from the full documentary is already causing havoc.
In the video, Charles Adu Boahen, Minister of State in Charge of Finance, has alleged that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, needs just USD200,000 as an appearance fee.
According to a letter signed by the director of communications at the presidency, Mr. Eugen Arhin, the president spoke to the minister and had no choice but to terminate his appointment.
Prez. Akufo-Addo also thanked the minister for his service to the country while referring the case to the special prosecutor for further investigations and subsequent prosecution.
Here below is the letter from the office of the director of communications for your perusal and reactions out there…
