Across the time of its existence, one very key national event that annually draws people from all walks of life has been held at the AICC. We are talking about the Vodafone Ghana Music Award. The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which was formerly Ghana Music Awards, was established in 2000 by Mascot to celebrate Ghanaian musicians.
The event has since its establishment seen tremendous change over the 21 years but the AICC has been the location since.
The venue has also seen the laying in state of some of Ghana's heads of state including Former President John Evans Attah Mills, Former President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and quite recently the sudden demised first constitutionally elected president, Jerry John Rawlings.
