A lot of strange things are happening ahead of the Nigeria 2023 elections and one may just begin to wonder why things are actually going the way they are or things are just being more normal.
In the latest news, a federal lawmaker from Gombe State, Yaya Bauchi Tongo, representing Gombe Federal Constituency has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the reason for his resignation is that he can no longer remain in a party that lacks democratic characteristics and denied its members a chance to contribute to the development of the party.
Tongo’s resignation letter which is dated 1st December 2021, was addressed to the Chairman of the party in Tongo ward in Funakaye LGA of Gombe State.
The letter’s content reads:
“Please sir, regrettably, I write to formally inform you and all the officials of the All Progressives Congress of Tongo electoral ward, Funakaye local government area of Gombe State, of my official resignation from the All Progressives Congress.
“This decision of mine was arrived at after a careful observation of the numerous crises in the All Progressives Congress in our state without any resolution in sight. All efforts made by well-meaning members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to bring about a peaceful resolution to the crises continue to meet bricks wall, as some individuals hijacked all-party machinery and have consistently refused some of us space to contribute to the development of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe state.

“Worthy of note of the sidelines is the exclusion of my person from the last congresses conducted by the All Progressives Congress, where a charade was staged by a certain gang of people to the detriment of all well-meaning founding and financial members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe state.”
