The National Tripartite Committee has released the 2023 national daily minimum wage which is expected to take effect from January 1, 2023.
In 2022, the national daily minimum wage has been GHC13.53 and the economic turmoil across 2022 has been having a dire effect on the pockets of workers both in the public and private sectors.
According to a press statement released by the committee, the 2023 national daily minimum wage is expected to cushion the ordinary Ghanaian whose wages and salaries are paid on the basis.
The increment percentage-wise is raised by 10% and the rate shall not only apply to civil servants. However, civil servants have been allocated some 15% cost of living allowance (COLA) which shall be calculated on the 2023 daily minimum wage.
What is the 2023 daily minimum wage of Ghana?
Effective January 1, 2023, the national daily minimum wage of Ghana will be GHC14.88. This amount is a 10% increment from GHC13.53.
On average, even though there are weekends in a month, workers who receive monthly salaries will be paid GHC461.28 as monthly salary come 2023 aside from other bonuses and salary computations.
